Osteopathy is a form of treatment in manual health care. It is a comprehensive treatment of the body based on the principles of anatomy, physiology and embryology, among others. The purpose is to support health and well-being as well as the body's own healing capacity. A prerequisite for health and well-being is the seamless cooperation of bones, muscles, connective tissue, ligaments, nervous system and blood circulation.
Osteopathy examines and analyses the structural and functional disorders and pains of the body. Examination is carried out with the help of palpation (palpation by hand). The treatment includes a variety of methods, from soft tissue techniques to articulation and manipulation techniques of the joints. This creates good conditions for healing and recovery. The methods affect pain and movement limitations mainly through the nervous mechanism.
Osteopathic treatment is adapted individually for each individual based on initial support and findings. The treatment is safe and suitable from babies to active athletes and seniors. Often, osteopaths come for back, neck and shoulder pain, but also due to migraines, headaches, bite defects, insomnia, stress, and work- and sports-related stress injuries.
